AGM Postponed Date 9th July

Due to the lack of financial PAID members at the AGM on the 30th we have had to postpone the AGM until the 9th July, 7pm at the Matamata Club. We need as many members there as we can to make the AGM possible.

Just a reminder, Waharoa Speedways AGM (Annual General Meeting) will be held at the Matamata Club at 2pm on Saturday 30th June. If you want your say to be heard come along and add your input at this years AGM. Anyone is welcome to attend however you must be a paid member to vote.

Prize Giving is not far down the track! It will be held at the Speedway in the barn on Saturday 19th May.

Two Day meeting - 28th/29th April

Waharoa Speedways Two Day meeting which was postponed is now being held on the 28th and 29th of April. We will also have live music and a few drinks and a get together after Saturdays Racing at the race track, where camping is available for all racers if they wish to rest for the night. Everything is staying the same as discussed about our 14th and 15th meeting. We will be running several special races throughout the two days. Special Events As Followed.

Ministock Drivers:

The Northern Wairoa Hotel Dargaville has donated $1000 prize money for this weekends racing
Secret pairs will run both Saturday & Sunday (new pairs each day) both drivers must be present to collect prize money

Overall points for the weekend for both A & B Ministocks.

$20 3rd

Best driver of the weekend $50; voted by Referee.
There will also be random spot prizes on Saturday after racing.
Driver must be present to receive prizes!!

Street Stocks and Stockcar Drivers:

A milk bottle full of sand will be attached to the rear of the cars with fence tape. Object of the race is to keep your bottle and take out everyone else’s

For those wanting to race this weekend that don’t have a CTRA licence, a day license can be purchased for $45, which allows you to run both days.

Two Day Meeting Schedule and Times:

Racing on Saturday starts at 12pm so be Scruitneered and ready before 11am.

Racing on Sunday will start at 11am so Scruitneering is to be done before 10am.


2 Day Meeting 14th/15th April

Waharoa Speedway is holding another 2 Day Meeting. This Two Day Meeting will be held on the 14th and 15th (Saturday and Sunday) of April 2018. We will be running several special races throughout these two days throughout several different classes (To be announced on the day) and have a Party in the barn on the Saturday evening. We will have camping available all weekend with the Gates opening at Roughly 10AM on Saturday 14th for people to start setting up.

Saturday 14th:

Racing will be starting at 1PM. All cars are to be scrutineered before 12PM to be able to race on the day. (If not they will be running off the back for this day)

Saturday evening:

We will be having a party in the barn after racing with cold beverages and music all night for our race members and the members who are camping. Everybody is welcome.

Sunday 15th:

We will also be racing on the Sunday. Racing however will start at 11AM so all cars are to be scrutineered by 10AM

7th January – Race Day (Club Champs Stockcars & B Ministock)

On the 7th Janurary we will be holding a standard race day which will have the Club Champs for two classes. Stockcars and B Ministocks.

As normal Racing Starts at 11:15.

We will have Scruitneering from 9-10am and drivers breifing at 10:30. If you are going to be late please ring your drivers rep and let them know. You can find the phone numbers HERE. If you do not ring up and notify someone and you are late you will be running off the back all day.


Ramp Demo Derby : NZ CTRA Stockcar Title : CTRA NI Streetstock Title

On the 17th December Waharoa will be hosting the New Zealand Title for the CTRA Stockcars. To compete in this you will need to fill out our CTRA Title entry form and email it to [email protected] or bring it on the day with you (Filled out). You can download this form below. Any issues or questions about this title head over to our Contact Page and fill out a form so we can email you back with answers to the issue or direct you to the correct person to speak with. Event schedule and race arrangement will be decided on the day depending on how many competitors there are entered for the title. (If there is alot theyre may have to be qualifying etc etc)

CTRA Street Stock North Island Title

We will also be holding the North Island Streetstock Title on the same day. This along side the Stockcar Titles race order and schedule will be arranged on the day with how the event will take place. This again depends on the number of competitors entered. You will also need to download a CTRA Title entry form and fill it out and either email it to [email protected] or bring it on the day as we are still accepting late entries.

Waharoa Speedway will be hosting a demolition ramp derby proudly sponsored by The Rock Guy on the 17th December 2017. Entry fee costs $50 per Car and each vehicle must be built to the SNZ “demolition derby rules and specifications including caravans, teams and ramp derbies” under section D1 of the SNZ rule book. The rule book can be downloaded below with all this information on it. This event will vary on the amount of cars but consist of a 30-40 lap race with a ramp on one of our straights that you can either choose to drive over or not drive over. Prize money will be up for grabs for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, best presented and best stirrer.

Entry Forms and Money Must Be entered and paid for before 3rd December unless arranged with the president. Entries and competition money can be either payed/dropped off at the Speedway on any upcoming race meeting or emailed to [email protected]. 2017 Two Day Meeting - 2nd/3rd December

Day 1 - 2nd December

Production Saloon North Island Title:

Day 1 of our two day meeting which will be held on the 2nd of December will have our New Zealand Production Saloon Title. All Title entries are to be emailed asap to [email protected] so they can be forwarded off to our secretary. You can download the Entry Form below. There will be appearance money for Production Saloons for the New Zealand Title. Racing will start at 2pm however, being a New Zealand title we will be holding a practice race for outsiders at 1pm.

The New Zealand Title Will be held over 4 races. The first 3 each competitor will have a front, middle and a rear grid draw. The total points from the 3 races will determine your grid position for the 4th race. The 4th race will then be a 30 lap feature and the first person to cross the finish line will be the new New Zealand CTRA Production Saloon champion.

Prize Giving:

Prize giving on Saturday night will be held at 8pm, we will do the prizes for the special races, each individual race and then also have live music until late for an evening party so hang around, have a few beverages and enjoy the music Saturday night after a good days racing.

We will also be holding a Street Stock Milk bottle race. This race is a special feature race at the end of the day to surprise the crowd. Game rules will be explained on the day to the Street Stock drivers. No entry form is needed for this.

Day 2 - 3rd December

Day Two will consist of two Special Races. The North Island Adult Ministocks and the Aleisha O’Reilly Memorial Production Saloon race for the Aleisha O’Reilly Cup.

Adult Ministocks North Island Title will be the main event for day two of the two day meeting at Waharoa Speedway. Entry Forms are also to be emailed ASAP to [email protected] so we can forward them onto the secretary. The entry form can also be downloaded below for those who have not entered and wish to enter. The Race Will be run over 4 races. The first three will be 12 lap races with a front, middle and back grid. The first three races will determine your starting position for the 20 lap feature which will determine the winner of the north island Adult Ministocks.

Camping and Accommodation at the track

From Friday 1st, the gate to the track will be open for campers, campervans and other people who wish to stay at the track over the weekend break. There will be Toilets and Showers for the people who wish to camp. Food will be available on Saturday at the canteen from 12pm until 7pm. The canteen will also be available all day Sunday for breakfast and lunch.

Cost

The cost to participate in the two day meeting at Waharoa Speedway is $15 Per Driver at gear check each morning. If you do not have a license you will be required to pay a $65 one day license which will cover you for both days. Gate Entry costs still applies for every car that enters the track. Food and beverage prices can be found up at the canteen on the day.

We will also be having a raffle over the two day meet and ask that all drivers can bring a non perishable item to donate to this raffle when they come up for gear check each morning.


2017 Opening Meet Date Change 12th November

Due To the Weather And having such a wet PIT we are going to Postpone our OPENING MEETING to Sunday 12th November.

Normal Opening Meeting criteria still applys, we will have triple points and our Facebook competition will still be running however it will be for the 12th of November Meet instead of the 5th.

Track Information:

  • Waharoa Speedway Opens at 8:00am
  • Scruitneering and gear check starts at 8:30am
  • Everybody must be Scruitneered and gear checked by 10:30am
  • Drivers Breifing Starts at 10:45am
  • Racing will start at 11:45

If you are going to be late please ring one of the committee members or president to let them know so you can be included in the class. If you fail to do so and are late you will be run off the back of the class for the Day.

Facebook Competition T&Cs:

We have a Facebook competition to win a free family pass to each meeting this season. Terms and conditions, You Must like Waharoa Speedway on Facebook and comment on the post of the meeting that you wish to win a pass to. The winner will be randomly drawn from a number system based on how many entries have been placed in our comments. The number will be randomly selected from a computer program. The winner will be tagged By Waharoa Speedway on our Competition Post 24 hours prior to our event. (If the events on a Sunday you will be notified on Saturday, If the Events on a Saturday you will be notified on the Friday.) The Winner can only use the Event pass once and will be allowed 2 Adults and upto 4 Children into Waharoa Speedway with the Pass. The Pass will be emailed to the winner and will be required to print it off and bring it to the entry of the gate.
